OCTOBER 28, 2017  It was good to be back home. My wife and I left last Monday Morning and returned Saturday Afternoon for our 45th Anniversary. We visited my Wife’s sister and husband for a couple of days in Russellville, AK and then to Branson for a couple of nights and one night in Muskogee, OK. I want to thank Bro. Waymond James for filling the pulpit while I was gone. Several folks told me he did a great job. I am looking forward to hearing the message on C/D. The Lord gave us a good day Sunday. The attendance was real good considering so many were sick and out of town. The offerings were good in the General Fund and Faith Promise Missions. We did not meet our Faith Promise Missions the last couple of weeks. Don’t for forget your promise. The best part of the day was Maddox Smith making a public profession of his faith in Christ and presenting himself for baptism. Praise the Lord! I showed about 203 pictures of Day Four Part Two of the Holy Land Tour, so next time, part three.
This Sunday, October 22, 2017 Steve Weatherford will be with us in Concert in the Evening Service. Steve has been in the singing ministry all his life. His parents were “The Weatherfords” from years ago. He and Lily Fern Weatherford sang together until her retirement in May of 2013. Steve has continued to tour as a solo artist using the skills he has learned from years of music and ministry. Don’t miss Sunday Evening for some good old Gospel Singing!
The “Annual City-Wide Carnival” will be on Saturday, October 28, 2017. This event takes a lot of work and needs several folks to help. Bro. James Smith will be heading up the carnival, so please check with him to see what you can do to help. We will need folks to sign-up to bring homemade chili, soup or stew. We also need bake goods for the “Cake-Walk” and a lot of candy. There is a sign-up in the foyer! This is a real opportunity to be a blessing to our community and for folks to get acquainted with Fundamental Baptist Church.
Please remember to pray for all those on the “Church Prayer List!” Let’s finish strong by being faithful the rest of year 2017. Neva and I love you very much and hope to see you in the services!
