OCTOBER 28, 2017  The Song Writer put it this way, “Heaven came down and glory filled my soul...” That is how I felt Sunday Evening when I got home. What a wonderful day in the Lord’s House on the Lord’s Day! We had a good attendance and offering in both the General Fund and Faith Promise Missions. We missed our Faith Promise goal but it was still a good offering. I preached a message entitled, “First Things First” in the Morning Service. Jesus said in The Sermon on the Mount, “But seek ye first, the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33) We had Steve Weatherford in concert in the Evening Service. What a blessing he was singing the old Gospel Songs. I closed out the service with a short message entitled, “A New Song.” The best part of the day was the “Alter Results.” William Robinson followed the Lord in Baptism. Chelby Young came forward for Baptism (she was saved in VBS two years ago.) Also, Gauge Bobo was saved in Jr. Church Sunday Morning and wants to follow the Lord in Baptism. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
The “Annual City-Wide Carnival” is this Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 6pm-8pm. This event takes a lot of work and needs several folks to help. Bro. James Smith is heading up the carnival, so please check with him to see what you can do to help. We will need folks to sign-up to bring homemade chili, soup or stew. We also need bake goods for the “Cake-Walk” and a lot of candy. There is a sign-up in the foyer! This is a real opportunity to be a blessing to our community and for folks to get acquainted with Fundamental Baptist Church. We will give all of our guest information about Fundamental Baptist Church and the Gospel of Salvation packet. Please pray for this out reach of the church!
Please remember to pray for all those on the “Church Prayer List!” The Year 2017 is also over, let’s be faithful and end the year by putting the Lord first. Neva and I love you very much and hope to see you in the services!
