“OLD FASHION DAY” January 21, 2018 It was so good to see many of our folks who were sick back in church. Only thing is there were others who were absent because of sickness and a few out of town. But still we had 178 in the Morning Service. The Offerings both in the General Fund and Faith Promise Missions was really good. I preached a message entitled, “Jesus and Me” in the Morning Service. Jesus told Peter to catch a fish and look in the mouth of the fish and take “...piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.” (Matthew 17:27) I preached a message entitled, “Stewardship” in the Evening Service. “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful..” (I Corinthians 4:1, 2) The message challenged us to be faithful stewards of all the Lord gives us in 2018.
This Sunday, January 21, 2018 is “Old Fashion Day.” We have the “Bryar Patch and the Stickers” going to provide our special music. Joshua Steven is a member of the group and they will be playing different instruments and singing. Joshua Stevens is a faithful member of Fundamental Baptist Church. I’m excited about them being with us on our special day. We will have “dinner of the grounds” (pot-luck.) You may dress “old fashion.” Plan to attend and bring someone with you!
We are hosting the Red River Valley Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship on Thursday, February 1, 2018. I ask all our choir members to try and be here at least for the first part of the meeting (9:30am—10:30am). We have had a choir for the last several years and it is such a blessing to the preachers. We will be serving a continental breakfast at 8:30am. The meeting is from 9:30am—Noon. We will be feeding everyone after the meeting, so we need help with food. My wife will be meeting with the ladies to plan the meal. We have three pastors scheduled to preach.
Rev. Charles Pugh (First Baptist Church, Cottondale, TX) Rev. Kevin Hymer (Fairpark Baptist Church, Ft. Worth, TX) Rev. George Newcomb (Heritage Baptist Church, Arlington, TX)
Please pray for those on our “Church Prayer List.” Neva and I love you very much and hope to see you in the services.
Your Pastor, Bro. Gary
