“OLD FASHION DAY” A Wonderful Blessing! What a WONDERFUL day the Lord gave us on Sunday! “Old Fashion Day” is always a highlight of the year at Fundamental Baptist Church. This year was no exception. We had a good attendance considering so many out with health problems. The “Bryar Patch and the Stickers” were great. There are no words to express how they blessed us by their playing and singing. Many commented, “They were the best we have ever had.” Folks, that is saying a lot! Of course to have one of our very own (Joshua Stevens) a part of the group made it even more special. We are going to have them back again! I preached a message entitled, “The Old Paths.” Jeremiah, (The Weeping Prophet) gave the Word from God. “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.” (Jeremiah 6:16). We had “dinner of the grounds” (pot-luck.) Folks you outdid yourselves on the good food. I preached a message entitled, “Landmarks” in the Evening Service. “Thou shalt not remove thy neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.” (Deut19:14) Bro. Joshua Steven provided the special music for the service. A GREAT DAY IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD! Thank you to all that made it a success!
We are hosting the Red River Valley Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship on Thursday, February 1, 2018. I ask all our choir members to try and be here at least for the first part of the meeting (9:30am—10:30am). We have had a choir for the last several years and it is such a blessing to the preachers. We will be serving a continental breakfast at 8:30am. The meeting is from 9:30am—Noon. We will feed everyone after the meeting, so we need help with food. My wife will be meeting with the ladies to plan the meal. We have three pastors scheduled to preach.
Rev. Charles Pugh (First Baptist Church, Cottondale, TX) Rev. Kevin Hymer (Fairpark Baptist Church, Ft. Worth, TX) Rev. George Newcomb (Heritage Baptist Church, Arlington, TX) Please pray for those on our “Church Prayer List.” Neva and I love you very much and hope to see you in the services.
