Easter Musical: “The King is Coming” April 1, 2018 AM It seems like every week there are some of our folks sick and out of town. I’m not complaining because I am thankful for all those who were able to be in the Lord’s House on the Lord’s Day! I preached a message entitled, “Calvary” in the Morning Service. “And there were also two others, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him and the two malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.” (Luke 23:32, 33) “Calvary” is the Latin word. The Greek work is “Golgotha.” (Matthew 27: 33Mark 15:22, John 19:17) Both words mean “The place called the place of the skull.” I showed some pictures of Calvary that I took on the Israel Tour. You can still see the form of a skull! In the Evening Message I preached on “The Two Thieves.” “Where they crucified him and two others with him, on the either side one, and Jesus in the midst.” (John 19:18) These two “malefactors” (criminals) represent all mankind. All are condemned to die for their sins (sinners.) All will die and all are either saved or lost. The thief asked Jesus “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23: 33, 34). He confessed his sin and trusted Christ to save him!
The choir will present our Easter Musical entitled, “The King Is Coming” on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Easter is a lot earlier this year and the choir has been working hard to get ready for the Musical. The message of the musical is to celebrate the life, death, burial, resurrection and coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. They crowned our Lord with a “crown of thorns” at His crucifixion, but there is coming a day when Jesus Christ will be crowned with the “Royal Diadem Crown.” It is a crown that ONLY Jesus is worthy to wear. All those who are His will hear the trumpet sound and will be caught up to meet Him in the air. After seven years of “Tribulation” on this earth, Jesus will return as “King of kings and Lord of lords” and rule and reign. Until His Coronation as King, let’s make Him Lord of our lives. Plan to attend and invite someone to attend with you. You will be blessed as the Choir presents, “The King Is Coming!”
I am doing a series of messages on “The Seven Beatitudes of Revelation” on Wednesday Evenings. The Fifth of the series is this Wednesday Evening. I have finished the series on “Forgiveness.” I have asked Bro. Waymond James to teach the class this Sunday. Pray he will be able. After next Sunday, I had a request to teach, “Why We Worship on Sunday?” Don’t miss the studies from God’s Word!
Please don’t forget to pray for all those on our “Church Prayer List.” Neva and I love you very much and hope to see you in all the services.
Your Pastor, Bro. Gary
