Easter Musical: “The King is Coming” April 1, 2018 AM The Lord gave us a wonderful Lord’s Day in the His House Sunday! The attendance was pretty good and the offerings were great. Bro. Waymond James taught the Adult Sunday School Class and did a great job. It was good to hear him teach again. If you were not in the Adult Sunday Class, you missed a blessing! Thank you Bro. Waymond! I preached a message in the Morning Service entitled, “The Mercy of God.” “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children.” (Psalm 103: 8, 17) I continued the subject of mercy in the Evening Service. “For his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 136) Every 26 verses of this Psalm ends with “For his mercy endureth for ever.” The Psalmist, David shows the Lord’s mercy is past, present and future. He starts the Psalm with “O give thanks unto the LORD: for his is good: for his mercy endureth for ever and ends with the Psalm with “O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
This Sunday the choir will present the Easter Musical entitled, “The King Is Coming.” It is ironic that Easter falls on April Fool’s Day, but Easter is no joke! Jesus is alive! Those who do not believe and scoff at the resurrection are the “fools.” The message of the musical is to celebrate the life, death, burial, resurrection and coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. They crowned our Lord with a “crown of thorns” at His crucifixion, but there is coming a day when Jesus Christ will be crowned with the “Royal Diadem Crown.” It is a crown that ONLY Jesus is worthy to wear. The Rapture will take place and after the seven years of “Tribulation” on earth, Jesus will return the second time to this earth. Jesus will return “King of kings and Lord of lords” and rule and reign. But every Child of God does not have to wait until His Coronation as King, let’s make Him Lord of our lives. Plan to attend and invite someone to attend with you. You will be blessed as the Choir presents, “The King Is Coming!”
I am doing a series of messages on “The Seven Beatitudes of Revelation” on Wednesday Evenings. The Sixth of the series is Wednesday Evening. This Sunday’s Sunday School Lesson is “Why we worship on Sunday and not the Sabbath?”
Please don’t forget to pray for all those on our “Church Prayer List.” Neva and I love you very much and hope to see you in all the services.
Your Pastor, Bro. Gary
