“Are You Washed in the Blood?"

The Lord gave us a good day in His House on the Lord’s Day. I was surprised with the attendance being so good since it was the July 4th Weekend. Also, the offerings in both the General Fund and Faith Promise Missions were good. I preached a message entitled, “The Greatest Freedom” in the Morning Service. I am thankful for the freedom we have in America, but the greatest freedom is the freedom we have as a Child of God. Jesus said, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”(John 8:36) The Christian is free from the bondage of sin and free from the cares of this world. We are “free indeed.” My “independence day” was on April 5, 1964 when I was saved! I preached a message entitled, “Are You Washed In The Blood” in the Evening Service. The KJV Bible says, “...Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.” (Rev. 1:5) I pointed out that the other “Bibles” (NIV, etc.) changed the word “washed” to “loosed or “freed us.”No, we were not “loosed”from our sins, but “washed” from our sins. In the same book of Revelation makes it clear, “...These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” (Rev. 7:14). The other “Bibles” are wrong! The song writer must have read the right Bible who wrote these words, “Are you washed, in the Blood, in the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are you garments spotless are they white as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?”Does your Bible say, “washed” or some other word? Being “loosed”or“freed” is NOT the same as being “Washed.”“You can let a donkey loose but he is still dirty.”(Bro. Louie McElhaney) AMEN!

Jr. Camp is July 16-20. See Bro. James Smith for all the paper work and details. Let me encourage our folks to help the boys and girls go to camp. We are going to a new camp, Timberline Baptist Youth Camp in Lindale, TX. Their cost is $200.00 per camper. Timberline Baptist Youth Camp has so much more to offer our campers. You can see pictures on their web-site. Pray about sponsoring a camper to camp! If you cannot do the whole cost, maybe half or any amount will help. Put your money or check (make it out to the church) in an offering envelope and mark the envelope and check “CAMP!”If a child wants to go the camp and their parents will let them go, let’s make sure every child gets to go! A week at Bible Camp will touch their lives and make a difference for all eternity. I don’t know of a better investment than in a life of a child. An investment that pays eternal dividends! As a result of Youth Camp many preachers, missionaries and people are serving the Lord today. I know because it was at Youth Camp I surrendered my life to serve the Lord and here I am Pastor of the greatest Church in the world!
