The summer is going by so fast and the Lord has blessed us with good attendance and offerings. I preached a message entitled, “The Greatest Book Ever Written” in the Morning Service. In my opinion, the Authorized King James Bible is the greatest book ever written to the English speaking people. The KJV has stood the test for over 407 years! No other book has brought about revivals and changed nations. It’s the Bible I was saved under and Bible that I have used all my Christian Life. It is the Bible Fundamental Baptist Church has used since founded in 1934. It is preached from the pulpit and used in all our Sunday School classes. I like what Bro. Johnny Flanagan wrote, “What’s wrong with the Old Black Book my daddy used to preach from...”
I showed 125 pictures from the Holy Land Tour in the Evening Service. We took a trip to the Fortress of Masada, taking the cable car to the top and visited Herod’s mountain bunker and the last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against Rome (66-73 AD). Some 1,000 Zealot Jews committed suicide maybe thinking it was the last of the Jewish Nation. But the Jews still exist today! We are living in exciting times to see the United States Embassy moved to Jerusalem and recognizing Jerusalem as their capital. The best part of the Lord’s Day was Wyatt McElhaney coming forward to make a profession of faith of his salvation. Wyatt was lead to the Lord by his parents, Charlie and Brandy in their home. What a blessing! This is the fourth generation of the McElhaney family of Fundamental Baptist Church. What a wonderful sight to see both grandparents standing at the front with Wyatt. Great heritage! Please pray for Wyatt as he goes in the Lord.
Jr. Camp is July 16-20. See Bro. James Smith for all the paper work and details. Let me encourage our folks to help the boys and girls go to camp. We are going to a new camp, Timberline Baptist Youth Camp in Lindale, TX. Their cost is $200.00 per camper. Timberline Baptist Youth Camp has so much more to offer our campers. You can see pictures on their web-site. Pray about sponsoring a camper to camp! If you cannot do the whole cost, maybe half or any amount will help. Put your money or check (make it out to the church) in an offering envelope and mark the envelope and check “CAMP!” If a child wants to go the camp and their parents will let them go, let’s make sure every child gets to go! A week at Bible Camp will touch their lives and make a difference for all eternity. I don’t know of a better investment than in a life of a child. An investment that pays eternal dividends! As a result of youth camp many preachers, missionaries and people are serving the Lord today. I know because it was at Youth Camp I surrendered my life to serve the Lord and here I am Pastor of the greatest Church in the world!
Please pray for all those on our “Church Prayer List.” The “Church Prayer List” is always available in the foyer. GOD HEARS AND ANSWERS PRAYER!
Your Pastor, Bro. Gary
