“MISSION EMPHASIS SUNDAY!”

Our attendance was good Sunday and the Lord blessed us with couples visiting our services. The offerings were good in both the General Fund and Faith Promise Missions. The Lord has called some wonderful saints home to be with him in the last couple of weeks. I have officiated three funerals of Joe Miller (my dad), Lyndall Swartz and Ray Stewart. The Lord laid on my heart to preach a message entitled, “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.” The Word of God says, “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be with the Lord. Wherefore we labor, that whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.”(II Corinthians 5:6-9) When the Apostle Paul said, “we”he was making reference to himself and those Christians in the church at Corinth. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! I preached a message on “The Judgment Seat of Christ” in the Evening Service. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ: that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”II Corinthians 5:10) What a sobering thought for every Christian! We will “all”stand one day before our Lord and Savior to be judged for our works. Jesus will gather every believer before the “bema seat” for the purpose of examining each one and giving the proper reward to them. Why should we what rewards? “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power and for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Rev. 4:10, 11) That is why!

This Sunday, March 17, 2019is “Mission Emphasis Sunday.”Missionaries Glen & Sheri McGee (Ecuador) will be in Sunday School and Morning Service. Missionaries Jason & Arlen Stevens (Honduras) will be in the Evening Service.I am calling thisa “Mini Mission Conference.” I am praying it will help boast us to finished strong in our Faith Promise we made back in our 47thAnnual Mission Conference. Also, it will cause others who are not involve will start giving to Missions.Don’t miss this special day at Fundamental Baptist Church!
